Christiani Competence Center relies on Stürmer technology

Christiani GmbH, an expert in technical teaching aids and teaching aids systems, has opened a new competence center for technical training and further education in Landsberg am Lech on an area of over 1,500 sqm. Stürmer represents the metalworking sector with a number of new machines from the Metallkraft and Optimum brands, which a delegation from Hallstadt inaugurated last Tuesday in a festive opening ceremony.

Kilian and Eric Stürmer as well as Lutz Abel and Robert Jüptner traveled to the competence center in Landsberg and presented a swing frame metal band saw, a motorized plate shear as well as a bending machine and a folding machine during the opening, which will now serve hands-on training purposes. The new machines were handed over on consignment, whereby Stürmer is making a significant contribution to the further modernization of training in the field of metalworking technology.

Innovative knowledge transfer through the use of digital twins

In addition to the new machines from Metallkraft, the metalworking and machining section also features machines from Optimum, including the OPTIturn L 44 CNC lathe and the OPTImill F 150 HSC CNC milling machine. The latter machine was also equipped with a 3D print head to demonstrate the full range of applications. From now on, trainers and trainees as well as technical managers in companies will use these two machines to supplement their theoretical machine knowledge with practical experience. The two CNC-controlled machines have the great advantage that they can be mapped realistically on the PC by means of a digital twin, whereby all movements of the machine with tools, clamping devices and components are generated virtually. The digital twin contains all geometries of the machine, fixtures, tools and the controls used, including all parameter settings.

Inspiration for training workshops and hands-on learning area

Stürmer Maschinen GmbH and Christiani GmbH & Co. KG have been cooperating for several years in the implementation of workshops and laboratories for technical training and further education as well as for manufacturing companies. On the one hand, the new competence center in Landsberg is intended to be a source of inspiration for setting up a training workshop. On the other hand, the center is also to be "filled with life" in that training companies and apprentices will attend courses there or take part in guided tours to acquire more in-depth knowledge in the areas of Industry 4.0., metalworking, electrics and IT. In the future, the two companies will continue to cooperate on innovative machine technology for teaching and training purposes and work on new ways to provide hands-on training on high-tech machine tools.
